Today we signed the acceptance certificate of the works of the new ISM Boats Station in Isla Cristina, Huelva (Spain). ORFISA has made the design and supervision of works.

Today we signed the acceptance certificate of the works of the new ISM Boats Station in Isla Cristina, Huelva (Spain). ORFISA has made the design and supervision of works.

The works carried out in Isla Cristina (Huelva), corresponding to a station Boat School National Center for Maritime Training, under the Social Marine Institute. It is the second such installation in Spain, the first is in Villagarcía de Arousa, Pontevedra.

The construction was executed by a grant from the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia, which has given ground. In the nave stands an area used for storage and services as well as a station on metal structure that will house a boat free fall, gravity and other latest rescue davit. They are elements of support for the practical classes of survival rescue boats.

These works have been conducted before the need for a station and that was much smaller than a few years ago, which was in dry dock at the port works to expand the boarding area, pledging to give the port agency another space.

The principal maritime training, Jose Carlos Macias, reported that "Spain has stations pot indoors, this may be the only one to give directly to the port, the sea," he added.

During Isla Cristina receives about 1,200 students coming from all over Spain, as well as countries such as Algeria, Senegal to arrive through an international convention. The courses are aimed at all groups of the crew, Guardia Civil del Mar, Red Cross, Salvage, sailors, patterns, and more.

The new station will be launched boats to the start of next year, in September.
